Text of June's One Minute Activist Letter:
Senator Edward Kennedy

Senator John Kerry
304 Russell Senate Office Building
Washington DC 20510
June 2005
Dear Senators Kennedy and Kerry,
As a constituent deeply concerned
about global warming, I am extremely troubled that Senators Alexander
and Warner have introduced a bill in the United States Senate that
would effectively kill the future development of wind energy.
As you know, wind energy is currently the fastest
growing source of energy on the planet, and the bill would leave
the United States behind. In addition, without a strong and vibrant
future for wind in the United States, our emissions of dangerous
greenhouse gasses will continue to grow.
Nuclear power utilities, coal, oil and natural gas
producers and have all received billions in taxpayer subsidies over
the years. The Warner-Alexander Amendment would deny all current
subsidies to wind energy development interests. That alone could
kill not only the Cape Wind project, but also most viable wind energy
sites being considered in these United States.
I strongly urge you to oppose Senators
Alexander and Warner's attempt to shut down America's move toward
a clean energy future. Thank you.
Sincerely,
