Chris – Thanks you for the green burial article in the March newsletter. I think we are ready to understand that the food we grow and eat depends on nutrients from the decomposition of previous living matter. We all become compost one day. I hope I make a sweet bunch of kale
You are welcome. I found the idea intriguing – and timely. Do I want the last act on this planet to be adding more chemicals (through embalming) to the ecosystem? One of the advantages of working closely with other co-ops is that we can reuse newsletter articles from other co-ops like this one from Green Fields Co-op in Greenfield, MA.
Why do you no longer carry Country Hen eggs? Although they are more expensive, their yolks are firmer and they are packed in paper boxes not plastic.

When do members get the patronage rebate? It feels like it has been a year already.
Good memory! Yes, it has been a year – our fiscal year just ended. Now the inventory, bookkeeping, and audits are done. This is the first year we are doing this, but the checks should go out by September.
Where is the local produce?!
It’s coming! We have some local suppliers we carry all year, like Lanni Orchards apples and squash, but we are working again with Red Tomato, a non-profit marketing and distribution organization to get it to you fast, fresh and local. Thanks
